Hazel Head Farm is a 350 acre fell farm nestled in the beautiful and little known Duddon Valley in the Western Lake District. The farm is owned by the National Trust and rented by the Hutchings family

Hazel Head is home to Charlie, Cass and their three children.
The traditional fell farm not only boasts superb views across the fells and gorgeous Duddon Valley but also two self contained holiday cottages, a walkers barn and an on farm classroom specifically designed for school visits.
This Lake District farm is also home to 400 traditional Herdwick sheep, 20 Blue Faced Leicester Sheep, 20 rare breed Devon Closewool sheep, 20 Native breed cattle, 6 dogs, 1 cat and a few free range hens.
School and Group Visits
We are pleased to be able to offer a wide variety of learning opportunities which we aim to tailor as much as possible to meet the requirements of each indvidual group.
We have an on farm classroom that has been specifically designed for school and group visits with ample hand washing facilities, toilets and a shower to facilitate over night stays as required.
